Volunteers for Symphony was created in 1996, resulting from a merger between the Junior Board and Guild. VfS funds and manages nine nationally-recognized music education programs that reach 30,000 young people each year.
More than 250 VfS volunteers contribute their time, talent and resources year-round to strengthen the Quad City Symphony Orchestra's mission. Proceeds from VfS fund raising projects such as "Second Fiddle Sale," and two cookbooks, Standing Ovations and Return Engagement are directly invested in the operation of the Orchestra and its music education outreach programs.
