Rick Best named Interim Executive Director
July 23, 2012The Quad City Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce that Rick Best, former executive director of WQPT, has been appointed by the Board of Trustees to serve as the Association's Interim Executive Director.
"I am delighted that Rick has joined our team," said Julie McHard, President of the Board of Trustees. "I have had the pleasure of working with Rick while I was on the board at WQPT and know he will do a tremendous job keeping everything running smoothly here at the Symphony as we conduct our search for a new Executive Director."
Mr. Best stated, "The QCSO's nearly century-long commitment to music and education has made it a respected institution in the Quad Cities. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the Board, staff, volunteers, and musicians of the Quad City Symphony during the months ahead. "
Rick Best began his career at WQPT in 1986 as Business Manager. He later became Assistant General Manager before becoming General Manager in 1997. Mr. Best retired from WQPT earlier this year.
