Midori Painted Violin Project

In recognition of the residency by world-renowned violinist Midori with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra this coming April, fourteen regional artists were asked to design works of art by applying their interpretive expressions onto violins. The result is a unique collection of beautifully crafted creations.

The violins will be auctioned by the QCSO as a fund raiser, with all proceeds helping to benefit their music education projects. Winners will be announced at the Volunteers for Symphony Derby Day event held at the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club on May 7.

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra thanks all the artists who generously donated their creative talent to the Midori Painted Violin Project.

Bids on the Painted Violins are no longer being accepted. Please check back to see the final auction prices for these beautiful pieces after Derby Day, May 7, 2011.
